A simple vegan tiramisu made with homemade vegan mascarpone cream.

This vegan tiramisu is one of the easiest desserts I make when I want something rich and creamy without much preparation.
The base is a homemade vegan mascarpone-style cream made from strained soy yogurt. Instead of layering it with sponge cake or ladyfingers, I simply add cocoa powder, a small pinch of instant coffee, and sliced banana.
The banana adds natural sweetness, while the coffee helps balance the tanginess of the soy yogurt and brings the flavor closer to a classic tiramisu.
Rich, creamy, and surprisingly satisfying, it feels much more indulgent than its short ingredient list suggests.

🧺 Why You'll Love This Recipe

- No baking required — simply assemble and serve.
- Just a few ingredients — banana, cocoa, coffee, and vegan mascarpone cream.
- Dairy-free, nut-free, and 100% vegan — no cashews, coconut cream, or dairy products required.
- Sweetened mostly with banana — only a little sugar is added to the cream.
🌿 Ingredients

- Vegan mascarpone cream — The base of this recipe. Made from strained soy yogurt, it creates a rich, creamy texture similar to mascarpone. See my vegan mascarpone recipe for details.
- Cocoa powder — Use unsweetened cocoa powder for the classic tiramisu-like finish.
- Instant coffee — Crush it finely between your fingers before sprinkling it over the cream. Just a pinch helps balance the tanginess of the soy yogurt and adds a more classic tiramisu-like flavor.
- Banana — Adds natural sweetness and texture. A ripe banana works best.

📖 Instructions

📘 Storage
This vegan dessert is best assembled just before serving.
The vegan mascarpone cream can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Because bananas brown quickly after slicing, prepare them shortly before serving.
Cocoa powder will gradually absorb moisture from the cream and lose its powdery finish. For a more classic tiramisu-like finish, dust with cocoa powder just before serving.
📚 FAQ
Yes. The dessert will be less sweet, so you may want to add a little extra sweetener to the vegan mascarpone cream.
